ReplyDeleteYAY! I just bought one, it looks SO good! I've had a little bit of Ethiopian food before and LOVED it (I've made my own teff injera before and it was incredible). Now I am really looking forward to making my own gf vegan, I am so excited!

ReplyDeleteI'm drooling just looking at the pics...and I'm not vegetarian! I am a confirmed cookbook junkie and actually do eat a fair amount of vegetarian meals (I have a block of firm tofu and an eggplant waiting in the fridge right now)so - Bookmarked and will order as soon as I refresh my paypal acct. Have you looked into what publishing through Amazon will cost you?

Dear Kittee,
ReplyDeleteI just ordered a copy of your inspiring cookbook and cannot wait to give all of the recipes a try. It is the most beautiful looking book I have ever seen and I am very excited about it ʕ·ᴥ·ʔ After I send the money it said they were delivered to David Coen - is that correct or did I send them the wrong way?
Best,
Andreas
That's correct, Andreas! I emailed you.

ReplyDeleteThis looks great! I want to mention that my company - Small Small - is just launching. We focus on bringing delicious, vegan, and gluten-free Ethiopian spices and sauces to the US and sharing a portion of every sale to teach modern ag in the region. We're starting with berbere and a sauce inspired by awaze for those who would like to try making Ethiopian at home! http://bit.ly/WSXk5W
ReplyDeleteOur website is www.buysmallsmall.com for more information as well.
Hi, I am a naturopathic doctor managing a family with different food intolerance and working to get us all onto the same foundation diet of no gluten, no dairy, no eggs, no soy. I am excited to get your recipe book as I love Ethiopian food! The big concern people are mentioning to me is that it would be difficult to get enough protein into the day with these restrictions and no meat. How do your recipes add up for protein content when you take out the soy?
ReplyDeleteThanks,

Only a couple of the recipes cannot be made without soy, the majority of the booklet is lentil/legume or vegetable based recipes. Do you know about Indian pudla and socca? Incorporating chickpea flour into some recipes might really help. You can even use it to make Burmese tofu, which is a soy-free chickpea based product.
DeleteNot too long ago you couldn't find decent Ethiopian food recipes in a Google search, now there's a whole zine full of my most beloved recipes. This was a great surprise find and I can't wait to get my copy!
ReplyDeletethanks for your order tamara! i hope you love the recipes.

Hi!! I was just curious if there are a lot of ingredients that are difficult to come across? I am slowly building my ingredient collection for vegan goods so I can make most things most times :)
ReplyDeleteHi Shasta!
DeleteDo you live in the US and do you have access to the kinds of spices and pulses/lentils commonly found in Indian food? There are a few that might be harder to find like fenugreek seed and urad dal, but those might be the hardest.
